Volunteer CoordinatorGardener (First Mate)
My name is Andy Rebollar, and am married to the Andi the girl (together we are the Andes). Faith has taken me on an amazing journey. I've been a pilgrim in Europe, a teacher/coach/or whatever else they needed at the time on a tiny island in Micronesia, a tri-parish Youth Minister, retreats in Tahoe, building houses in Tijuana, and most recently a Campus Minister & teacher at a small Catholic school in the Bay Area. Now it's brought me to the farm. I'm looking forward to serving in any way I'm needed. I like being outside and playing sports of all types, cards, and games. (By the way, that's a fake mustache. I can't really grow one.) our blog: www.farmingandes.com |
Hiring CoordinatorRetreats & Spirituality Coordinator
In my previous lives I have been a bagel maker, theater student, camp counselor, lifeguard, rape crisis counselor, & youth minister. Then, in 2008, I married Andy the Boy & the adventure really began. This October, we packed up our car, drove across the country from California, & after a brief stop in Michigan to visit my family, finally arrived at the farm. I miss the beach! However, I am glad to be here to experience autumn again, to have more time to create art, to dig in the garden, to learn more about social justice, & to spend time with the rest of the community. Want to more about what it's like to be the newest member of Bethlehem Farm? Check out our blog at www.farmingandes.com. Now, if you'll excuse me I have to go put on more socks. Brrrr! |
Project Coordinator Firewood Supply Manager
My name is Joe Prieboy. Perhaps the most interesting and important thing to know about me at the moment is that I spent 7 years in formation for the Order of St. Augustine. I entered seminary right out of high school and continued in it until I left the Order in June of 2007. I greatly benefited from my time in formation, but I felt the need to discern other options for my life. I was very moved by Bethlehem Farm and its mission and felt called to come to this place, so I moved in at the end of August of 2007. My favorite parts of life at the Farm are the home repair projects and splitting wood. I love the outdoors and greatly enjoy canoeing and camping. I like to read a lot, and my favorite movies are the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I am currently obsessed with Boston Legal, as well. |
Loaves and Fishes Director Office Manager
I recently moved to the farm from Nashville, Tennessee. I was a high school teacher and campus minister just outside of Nashville for five of the last six years. That other random year tucked in there I spent in Boston, studying Theology at Boston College, while living in a dorm with the first-year students as their Peer Minister. I enjoy playing mandolin, banjo, and guitar, talking about theology and justice issues, reading good poetry and books, writing letters, and sipping on a good cup of coffee. It should also be noted that I have a long torso. (my blog: http://brentfernandez.blogspot.com/)

Director Gardener
I grew up in Wauwatosa, WI, graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 1999 with a degree in biology and was involved in the Encounter and Search retreats, as well as service trips to Nazareth Farm, Guatemala, and inner-city Chicago. After college, I volunteered and worked at Nazareth Farm in Doddridge County, WV, from 1999-2002, and worked as the mentor of the Mother Jones House Christian service community at Wheeling Jesuit from 2003-2005, where I also studied theology. I married my lovely wife Colleen in 2005 and we both attended West Virginia University, where I earned a Master of Public Administration and Certificate in Nonprofit Management in May, 2007. I enjoy working in the garden, running, hiking and stargazing. |
House Manager Animal Husbandry After spending the first 18 years of my life in Villa Hills, Kentucky, I moved to Chicago to attend Loyola University where I studied molecular biology and sociology and worked for campus ministry, originally intending to pursue medical school. After discovering the farm, I knew that this was actually where I belonged, and I am very much enjoying my time as animal wife and house manager. My favorite activities here in the kitchen are canning and making yogurt. When I have free time, I enjoy hammock laying, reading (always interested in recommendations), dancing, taking long walks, and frying homemade cheese. |
Development Officer Facilities Manager
My husband Eric and I have been living at Bethlehem Farm since May 2007, after three years of long-distance planning and work. I went to college at Loyola University Chicago, then spent two years working at Nazareth Farm (Bethlehem Farm's sister farm) as the Project Coordinator. Eric and I got married in 2005, moved to Morgantown, WV, and I graduated with a Master's Degree in Social Work from West Virginia University. I love working with my hands, whether it's working on the farm vehicles, framing walls, or creating unique quilts. I am very interested in learning to tend honeybees and one day I hope to be a licensed electrician. In the meantime, I love living at the farm, trying to live authentically, and continuously growing from the experiences we have and the people we meet here. |
